sfch (Salesforce Case Highlighter) Chrome Extension

Last Updated: August 25, 2025

Introduction

This privacy policy outlines the data practices for the "sfch (Salesforce Case Highlighter)" Chrome Extension. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This extension is designed to organize and highlight your Salesforce cases entirely within your browser without collecting or transmitting any of your personal data.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII). This includes, but is not limited to:

Data We Use

The extension's functionality relies on two types of data that are stored locally on your computer or synced to your own Google account:

User-Configured Settings: To provide a customized experience, the extension saves your preferred rules and feature states (e.g., breach hour thresholds, highlight colors, configured list view URL, and on/off toggles for highlighting and grouping). These settings are saved using the chrome.storage.sync API, which syncs them to your personal Google account so your settings are consistent across your browsers. We, the developers, have no access to this data.

Page Content Interaction: The extension reads the content of your active Salesforce Case list view tab to identify case information (priority, status, breach times, etc.). It uses this information to apply visual highlighting and to physically reorder rows into priority groups according to your configured rules. This process is done entirely within your browser, and no information about the page content is ever saved, stored, or transmitted outside your browser.

Permissions Required

The extension requests the following minimal permissions to function:

storage

To save your custom rules, color preferences, and feature toggle states locally.

activeTab

Allows the popup dashboard to request real-time statistics from the Salesforce page when you click the extension icon.

scripting

Used for the one-click setup process to validate columns and detect your user alias on the page.

Host Permissions

The extension requires access to Salesforce domains (specifically `*/lightning/o/Case/list*` URLs) to provide its core functionality. This access is strictly limited to Case list view pages and is used only to read case data and apply visual enhancements (grouping and highlighting). The extension does not run on or have access to any other Salesforce pages or other websites.

Data Security

All extension functionality occurs locally in your browser. No data is sent to external servers, third parties, or our servers. Your Salesforce data remains within your browser and Salesforce's secure environment.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in functionality or legal requirements. Any changes will be reflected in updated extension versions distributed through the Chrome Web Store, and the "Last Updated" date will be modified accordingly.
